Anderson: Tate Ivanyo Tabbed as CSC Academic All-American of the Year

Anderson University Men's Basketball senior Tate Ivanyo has been tabbed the College Sports Communicator (CSC) Academic All-America Team Member of the Year, which was announced by the CSC on Tuesday.

The award celebrates the student-athlete in NCAA D-III men's basketball who best represents an elite combination of athletic excellence and academic excellence.

"It's an honor to be named the CSC Academic All-America Team Member of the Year," Ivanyo said. "It's been a process starting with my freshman year. My professors have poured into me on the academic side; I've met with multiple professors on a weekly basis for the past three years. They've really poured into my life, not just with academics but with life outside of school as well. I think that's a testament to the academic side. With the basketball side, my teammates and coaches have also poured into me. They have helped push me to believe in who I am as a player and as a person."

Ivanyo is a three-time CSC Academic All-American. He garnered first-team honors this season after being named to the third team in his previous two years.

Ivanyo advances forward as a nominee for the CSC All-Sport Academic All-American of the Year, which will be announced later this summer.
