2025 HCAC Men's Basketball Championship Preview

CARMEL, Ind. - The 2025 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Basketball Championship is set to be held Saturday, Feb. 22 through Saturday March 1.

Anderson University earned the No. 1 seed and the regular season HCAC Championship Crown, following a 15-3 mark in conference play.  They will host the streaking Manchester Spartans, who come in as the 8th seed with a 5-13 conference record, but boasting a three game winning streak including a defeat of the No. 2 seed Franklin Grizzlies in the final game of the seasons, which propelled the Spartans into the tournament.  The Grizzlies earned the No. 2 seed, and the right to host a quarterfinal game, after finishing the season with a 14-4 record.  They will host the No. 7 Seed Berea College Mountaineers, who make the HCAC tournament during their first season of conference play, having finished the year with a 6-12 HCAC record.  The No. 3 seed Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers (13-5 HCAC) will host the No. 6 seed Mount St. Joseph Lions, who ended their season with an 8-10 conference mark.  The No. 4 seed Hanover Panthers bested the No. 5 Seed Transylvania Pioneers in the final game of the season, grabbing the 4th seed and setting up a rematch of the same contest, in the same location.  This time, the stakes are higher as it is an HCAC quarterfinal game for the chance to advance. 
 
This year's HCAC Men's Basketball Tournament will be held in an eight-team format.

The semifinal and final rounds of the women’s championship will be contested on the campus of the highest remaining seed after the Quarterfinals, and held on Friday, February 28th at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The championship game will consist of the two remaining teams and will tip at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 1.
 
Admission to all HCAC Championships is $10. Children aged 11 and under and students/faculty and staff with an HCAC institution ID will be admitted for free.
