HCAC 2025-26 Swimming & Diving Notebook, Week 1

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Swimming & Diving teams competed in week one of the 2025-26 season.

Athletes of the Week: 
Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week:
Trevor Wiley (Indianapolis, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Swimmer | Sophomore – Trevor Wiley made an impact, helping Rose-Hulman claim a third-place team finish at the Indiana DIII Championships. Wiley earned an event win in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:56.82. Wiley also earned a second-place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 1:59.19, and a third-place finish as a member of the 200 medley relay team with a time of 1:39.54.

Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week:
Parker Siddons (Plainfield, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Diver | Junior - Parker Siddons led the Fightin' Engineers with two event wins in the Indiana DIII Championships. Siddons placed first in both the 1-meter diving (198.85) and 3-meter diving (190.40). Rose-Hulman finished third as a team in the competitive meet.

Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week:
Kat Lundy (Winchester, Ind.) Franklin College | Swimmer | Junior - Kat put together a great winning recipe for this weekend. Kat won all 3 of her individual events and was on the winning 200 Medley Relay team as well. Kat won the 100 Backstroke going 59.60( this puts her 38th in the nation), she also won the 100 IM going 1:03.06(this puts her 10th in the nation) and finally she won the 200 Backstroke going 2:11.32(this puts her 41st in the nation).

Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week:
Alexis Fleming (Monroe, Ohio) Franklin College | Diver | Sophomore - Alexis had the “Perfect” performance this weekend winning both the 1M diving, and the 3M diving competitions. She narrowly won the 1M competition, beating out her teammate by 1 point. She won the 3M competition by 26 points.
 
 
Notable Performances:
Men’s
  • Zachary Jackson-Blaine (St. Andrew, Jamaica) Franklin College | Swimmer | Junior - Zach Jackson-Blaine had a great showing at the Indiana D3 Invitational. Zach had an Impressive performance in the 50 Free, winning the event and going 21.35. This currently places him 33rd in the nation. Zach also swam individually in the 100 Free going 49.41 and the 100 Butterfly going 55.96. Zach placed 3rd in the 100 Free and 9th in the 100 butterfly. Finally Zach anchored the 400 Free Relay splitting a 47.94 to help his relay team place 2nd.
  • Phoenix Simons (Franklin, Ind.) Franklin College | Diver | Sophomore - Phoenix Simons had a great showing at the Division 3 Invitational on Saturday. Phoenix placed 5th In 1M diving and placed 3rd in 3M diving.
Women’s
  • Avery Witt (North Vernon, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Swimmer | Sophomore - Avery Witt was a standout for the Fightin' Engineers in their third-place team finish in the Indiana DIII Championships. Witt earned a third-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:16.59. Witt followed that with two fourth-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.31) and the 100 IM (1:06.31).
  • Ellie Castleman (Fort Wayne, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Diver | First Year – Ellie Castleman helped lead the Fightin' Engineers to a third-place team finish at the Indiana DIII Championships. Castleman earned two third-place finishes in both the 3-meter (166.50) and 1-meter (168.20) diving competitions.
