HCAC 2024-25 Swimming & Diving Notebook, Week 6

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) swimming and diving teams competed in week six of the 2024-25 season.

Athletes of the Week: 
Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week:
Colton Schulte (Huntington, Ind.) Manchester University | Junior - Won the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.56.  Schulte also has fastest HCAC time so far.

Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week:
Kat Lundy (Winchester, Ind.) Franklin College | Sophomore - Kat won 2 of her three events this weekend winning the 200 backstroke and 400 IM. She also finished 2nd in the 200 butterfly with a season best time of 2:19.02 putting her second in the HCAC. She won the 400 IM with a time of 4:52.85 placing her firmly at the top of the HCAC.

Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week:
Kaleigh Schuler (Floyds Knobs, Ind.) Franklin College | Junior – Kaleigh won both rounds of diving this weekend with a score of 415.72. This is her second NCAA Regional Qualification score. Kaleigh is currently undefeated in dual meets this season.

Notable Performances
Men's
  • Isaac Layton (Franklin, Ind.) Franklin College | First Year – Isaac won 2 out of 3 individual events this weekend. He won the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle. He won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48.60 beating his best time this season by over a second. He won the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:59.49 beating his season best time by over 4 seconds. Both of these times have placed him firmly in the top 5 in the HCAC.
Women's
  • Madalyn Sink (Huntington, Ind.) Anderson University | First Year - Madalyn posted career best swims in the 50 and 100 freestyles while winning both events for the Ravens against Olivet (Mich.).
