CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) partnered with Special Olympics Indiana to hold the third Trivia Night, on Sunday.
The event welcomed over 75 participants from eight of the member schools, with Student Athletes and Special Olympic Athletes teaming up for a night of fun. This year’s trivia event was themed ‘As Seen on TV’, and after five rounds of trivia and a final Jeopardy round, the Ravens from Anderson University claimed the title with a score of 148 points. Just behind in second place was the team from Earlham College, who took second with 144 points. The top-half of the leaderboard was a tight race, with the defending champions Transylvania University (142) taking third and Mount St. Joseph University (132) claiming fourth. Earning an honorable mention finish was Bluffton University, who garnered 152 points, but competed without any Special Olympic partners.
The night was filled with smiles and laughs. Following each round of trivia, the participants interacted in ‘Brain Breaks’, which featured a range of activities from scavenger hunts to dance offs. Bonus points were awarded to teams who stood out during the brain breaks and dressed to the events theme. Comedian Craig Tornquist served as the nights host, engaging every member of the audience, while also facilitating the Trivia contest.
