Transylvania Wins Third Straight HCAC Volleyball Tournament Title

RICHMOND, Ind. – Transylvania University came out victorious in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) 2021 Volleyball Championship on Sunday, defeating Earlham College, 3-1.

In a tight first set, the Pioneers picked up a 25-23 win to secure momentum. The talented Earlham team showed why they had earned the No. 1 seed in the 2021 tournament, nabbing a decisive 25-16 set two victory. But it was all Transylvania the final two sets, as they secured the championship title with a set three win 25-21, and a set four 25-19 victory.
 
The HCAC recognizes an All-Tournament team and a most outstanding player of the tournament. Those members of the 2021 HCAC Volleyball All-Tournament team include:

Kelsey Ketcham (Mishawaka, Ind.), Hanover College

Olivia Kyrk (Cardington, Ohio), Earlham College
Suzanne Klosterman (Cincinnati, Ohio), Transylvania University
Karrington Jackson (Louisville, Ky.), Transylvania University
Most Outstanding Player - Grace Ward (Edgewood, Ky.), Transylvania University
 
Transylvania earns the conference’s automatic qualification bid to the 2022 NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship. The field for the championship will be announced Monday, Nov. 8 at 12:30 p.m., with the opening rounds scheduled for Nov. 13-14, 2021 at a location to be announced by the NCAA.
