CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) cross country teams held their fourth virtual event of the 2020 season on Oct. 25.
The fourth virtual racing event featured various distances, where conversion factors for the 3,200-meter run were used to declare winners. Scores are based on the 3,200-meter equivalent time, which are broken down in the weekly results.
On the men’s side, Enrique Salazar from Manchester University turned in the fasted time, a run of 15:26.3 which equated to a 9:33.8 in the 3,200-meter. For the women fellow Spartan, Kelsey Tyler, took the top spot with a run of 18:30.5 which translated to a time of 11:28.3 in the 3,200-meter discipline.
Manchester also took the top-spot in the men’s and women’s team tally’s, with 49 points in both races. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed second for the men with 52 points and Franklin College rounded out the top-three with a team score of 80 points. For the women, the Fightin’ Engineers claimed second place with 52 points, while Transylvania rounded out the top-three with 57.5 points.
The final virtual meet of the season will be held in two weeks, where runners will compete at the same distance.
