INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Half of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country teams competed at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky last weekend.
Manchester University finished sixth out of 43 teams at the classic and the Spartans were led by Hannah Wappes. The junior was the top HCAC and NCAA Division III finisher with a 5k time of 19:02.4 and a fifth place finish at the Greater Louisville Classic.
Freshman Arig Tong led the Hanover women's cross country team to a 14th place finish at the classic. Tong finished the race less than 30-seconds behind the winner for a sixth place time of 19:04.0.
Franklin College, Mount St. Joseph University, and Transylvania University also participated in Louisville on Saturday. The Mount Lions placed 35th, while the Grizzlies and Pioneers finished 38th and 39th, respectively, at the Greater Louisville Classic.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Earlham College participated in the Millikin H.W. Wright Classic in Decatur, Illinois last Friday. The Quakers claimed a fifth place finish while the Fightin' Engineers earned the team title out of nine teams.
The Fightin' Engineers were led by Mary Petersen, the junior won the invite over a field of 85 runners with a 6k time of 22:37.
Bluffton University and Defiance College traveled to Akron, Ohio to compete at the All-Ohio Championships. The Beavers placed 10th out of the field of 17, while the Yellow Jackets did not post a team score.
