Women's Cross Country Report (Week 3) - Franklin's Cain Earns Indiana Intercollegiate Title

GREENWOOD, IN - Franklin's College's Hillary Cain (Rushville, Ind./H.S.) was the individual winner in the Little State division at the Indiana Intercollegiate Saturday in Terre Haute.

The sophomore completed the 5K course with a career-best time of 18:30, finishing first among 150 runners.

Cain’s time of 18:30 was her career-best 5K mark and the third best 5K effort ever recorded by a Franklin female cross country contestant. She beat Erika Wilson of second-place University of Southern Indiana to the finish line by almost seven seconds.

The Manchester University women's cross country team led the HCAC field at the 2012 Indiana Intercollegiate meet.  The Spartans placed sixth overall in the 18-team field, featuring schools from NCAA Division II, III, and NAIA.

Senior Karla Madrigal (Elkhart, Ind./Central) led the black and gold with a seventh place finish, covering the 5K course with a time of 19:04.

Hanover College finished seventh in the standings and was followed by Franklin (9th), Anderson (11th), Rose-Hulman (15th), and Earlham (16th).

This weekend's schedule features Bluffton and Transylvania competing at Otterbein.
