GREENWOOD, IN - The Manchester University women's cross country team swept the Bluffton Invitational on Saturday, claiming the top six positions. The Spartans totaled a perfect 15 points and were followed by host Bluffton and Defiance
Senior Karla Madrigal (Elkhart, Ind./Central) earned the title at the Bluffton Invitational, covering the 6K course with a course record time of 23:53.
Senior Ashley Kopla (Valparaiso, Ind./Boone Grove) took second (24:47), while senior Meredith Cors (Elkhart, Ind./Memorial) was third (24:59).
Hanover College welcomed Franklin, Transylvania, and Mount St. Joseph for the Hanover Invitational Saturday. The host Panthers won the team title and was followed by the Grizzlies, Pioneers, and Lions in the standings.
Hanover's Mackenzie Dye (New Castle, Ind./H.S.) finished third to lead the Panthers with a time of 19:58 on the 5K course.
Mount St. Joseph's Amanda Shelby (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) finished as the runner-up individually with a school-record time of 19:35.
Franklin's Hillary Cain (Rushville, Ind./H.S.) won the meet with a first place time of 19:17.
This weekend's schedule is highlighted by the Indiana Intercollegiate meet in Terre Haute on Friday.
