Earlham freshman outside hitter Sarah Dickman (Richmond, Ind. / Seton Catholic) led Earlham to a 2-0 mark last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on offense.
Dickman charted 32 kills and averaged 4.57 kills per set over seven sets while helping Earlham clinch the program’s first HCAC tournament berth. The freshman outside hitter led Earlham with a season-high 19 kills while hitting .213 in Earlham’s 3-1 road win over Rose-Hulman, giving the Quakers their first HCAC win over the Fightin’ Engineers.
On Saturday, Dickman was tied for the team lead with 13 kills behind a .242 hitting percentage as Earlham posted a 3-0 win over Bluffton to secure the No. 3 seed in the HCAC tournament.
The Earlham Quakers (19-11, 6-3 HCAC) will host Anderson University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinal round of the HCAC tournament.
