Transylvania University’s Meghan Bowers (Louisville, Ky./Presentation) led the Pioneers to a 3-0 mark to close the regular season last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on offense.
Bowers recorded 37 kills in wins over Earlham, Bluffton, and Kenyon, while posting a hitting percentage of .465.
In a 3-0 sweep of Earlham, Bowers led the team with 10 kills and a .533 hitting percentage. In Saturday’s 3-0 win over Bluffton, the senior totaled 16 kills, one assist, two digs, and a .516 hitting percentage. Bowers finished the week with 11 kills, three digs, one assist, and a .346 hitting percentage in a 3-1 win over Kenyon.
Transylvania (23-11, 8-1 HCAC) earned the No. 2 seed in this week’s HCAC tournament and will await the winner of Mount St. Joseph and Bluffton at 5:00 PM Saturday.
