Volleyball Report (Week 2) - Defiance Improves to HCAC-Best 7-2 Mark

GREENWOOD, IN - Defiance College claimed a 4-1 record during the week, including a 4-0 finish at the Rose-Hulman Invitational. The Yellow Jackets earned 3-0 sweeps over Ohio Wesleyan, Muskingum, Webster, and Kenyon in Terre Haute, while falling to Northwestern Ohio 3-1 earlier in the week.

Junior Alicia Kalik (South Lyon, Mich./H.S.) totaled 140 assists, 29 digs, and five total blocks on her way to being named to the All-Tournament team at the Rose-Hulman Invitational this past weekend.

Sophomore libero Rebecca Kain (Orland, Ind./Praire Heights) led the DC defense during the week. Kain put together a solid 82 dig weekend with only one receiving error at RHIT.

Defiance stands a HCAC-best 7-2 on the season and will face Heidelberg, Hiram, and Baldwin Wallace this week.

In other action...

Rose-Hulman capped off the week with three-straight wins at the Rose-Hulman Invitational.  The Engineers (5-6, 0-0 HCAC) notched wins over Ohio Wesleyan, Kenyon, and Muskingum after suffering home losses to Greenville and Webster.

Sophomore Sarah Jensen (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest) recorded two triple-doubles during the week, earning a spot on the All-Tournament team. Jensen smashed 82 kills (3.28/set) with 90 assists and 63 digs.
