Women's Outdoor T&F Report - Week 5
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's outdoor track and field teams participated in the respective state championship meets.
All six of the HCAC institutions located in Indiana traveled to Greencastle, Ind. last weekend to participate in the Indiana Division III Championships hosted by DePauw University.
Earlham's Aishat Sadiq claimed a pair of first place finishes and two second place finishes during Saturday's Indiana D-III Championships at DePauw University. The senior won both the 100m (12.24) and the 200m (25.35), both in meet record times. Sadiq also ran the anchor leg for Earlham's second place team in the 4x100m relay, which posted an Earlham record time of 49.63 seconds.

The senior's 100m time also keeps her atop the Great Lakes Region performance list while her 200m time is second in the Region. Sadiq's 100m time is ranked 16th on the Division III performance list, while the 200m time is 24th in Division III. Between her three individual results and her effort in the relays, Sadiq helped earn 36 of the Quakers' 99 points in the meet, as Earlham finished third out of eight teams.

Hanover's Erin Trimpe was named the Most Valuable Field Athlete at the Indiana Division III Championships last weekend.  The senior broke her own meet record in the pole vault with a height of 3.50 meters to place first at the event. Trimpe has cleared at least 3.45m in all five appearances this spring. Hanover finished with 142.50 points to place second overall and first among HCAC schools at the championships.

Anderson's Emily Smatlak added a victory for the HCAC squad in the javelin throw at the Indiana D-III Championships with a meet-record throw of 39.56 meters last weekend.

Bluffton, Defiance and Mount St. Joseph traveled to Delaware, Ohio for the two day All-Ohio Championships last weekend. The Beavers and Yellow Jackets did not post a team score, and the Lions placed 14th out of 18 teams at the meet.

Transylvania participated in the Centre Twilight Meet on Friday evening in Danville, Ky. last week. Pioneer freshman Taylor Allen took first place in the women's 400-meter hurdles at the event on Friday with a time of 1:06.40. The freshman's time not only stands as a new Transylvania school record, but also currently ranks second in the HCAC and 11th in the Great Lakes Region this outdoor season. Allen also anchored the Transylvania women's 4x400 meter relay team that took second place at the Centre Twilight.
