Women's Outdoor T&F Report - Week 3
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Four Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's outdoor track and field teams traveled to Hanover, Ind. last weekend to participate in the Hanover Invitational.
 
The Hanover Panthers placed first out of the field of nine teams with a point total of 196.5 at the event, while Manchester followed behind in second place with 104 total points at the invite. Mount St. Joseph finished in a tie for fourth and Franklin finished in ninth place at the Hanover Invitational last weekend. 
 
Hanover's Kenna Hunter scored in five total events, including three on the track as Hanover won its home meet this past Saturday. The junior won the 400m hurdles with the conference's fastest time this spring, 1:06.98, which was also the second fastest time in the region last week. Hunter also placed second in the 100m hurdles at 16.75 seconds and was a member of the 4x400m relay team that placed second with a time of 4:16.93.
 
Sophomore Erin Browning broke Hanover's school record in the hammer throw for the third consecutive week, winning the Hanover Invitational by over five meters at 50.84m. The sophomore's mark now ranks sixth nationally in the event. Browning also placed second in the shot put (10.81m) and third in the discus throw (32.74m) as Hanover won its home invitational for the fifth time in nine years, recording 196.50 points.
 
Manchester's Laina Boggs placed first in the women's shot put, leading the field with a top distance of 11.12 meters. The senior also earned a runner-up finish in the javelin throw with a final distance of 32.07 meters. 
 
Anderson and Defiance traveled to Cedarville, Ohio to participate in the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open, while Bluffton and Earlham headed to Westerville, Ohio for the Otterbein April Fool's Invitational.
 
Earlham's Aishat Sadiq won the 100m dash in meet record time at Saturday's Otterbein Invitational. The senior ran the 100m in 12.38 seconds, recording the top time this season in the HCAC and the third-fastest time in the Great Lakes Region. Sadiq also finished eighth in the 200m dash at the Otterbein meet with a time of 27.01 seconds.
 
Also competing last week was Rose-Hulman at the Eastern Illinois Big Blue Classic where the Fightin' Engineers did not post a team score.
