GREENWOOD, IN - The Anderson University women’s track & field team won the five-team Anderson Invitational Saturday. The Ravens finished 34 points ahead of Goshen in the standings.
Sophomore Melissa Green (Toledo, Ohio/Christian) earned the title in the discus (36.88) and shot put (10.64), while senior Shantol McMahon (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Centennial) added titles in the hammer (38.99) and javelin (32.87). Senior Alex Friske (McHenry, Ill./H.S.) finished first in the the 100-meter hurdles (15.28) and 400-meters (1:08).
Earlham College also competed at AU and placed third at the meet.
Defiance and Manchester competed at Huntington Saturday. The Jackets placed third in the standings, while the Spartans finished seventh.
DC's Micah Wilson (Mims, Fla./Astronaut) won the 100 and 200-meter dashes at the meet to lead the Jackets.
Hanover, Franklin, and Rose-Hulman took part in the DePauw Invitational. The Panthers led the HCAC group with a fifth place finish among the 10 schools. Rose-Hulman finished seventh, while Franklin placed 10th.
This weekend the All-Ohio and Indiana Division III Invitational dominate the schedule. Transylvania will host the Transylvania Invitational Saturday.
