GREENWOOD, IN - Manchester University competed at the IPFW Mastodon Invitational over the weekend. The Spartans were paced by junior Bridgette Rowe (LaQuinta, Calif./H.S.) at the meet featuring Division I competition.
Rowe claimed two event titles Saturday to lead the Spartans. The junior won the high jump with a school record leap of 1.7 meters, which is currently tied for third among NCAA Division III competitors this indoor season. Rowe followed that performance with a victory in the triple jump, posting a school record mark of 11.02 meters.
Rose-Hulman played host to the Rose-Hulman Invitational Saturday afternoon. Franklin, Mount St. Joseph, and Transylvania joined the Engineers at the meet. Transy was the top finishing HCAC school with a fifth place finish, while Franklin (6th), Rose-Hulman (6th), and Mount St. Joseph (8th) rounded out the standings.
Anderson, Bluffton, and Defiance were in action at Taylor University Saturday. There were no team standings at the meet.
The Yellow Jackets currently stand 10th in the Great Lakes Region rankings in results released by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
This weekend's schedule features all 10 HCAC squads. Anderson will host Earlham, Hanover, Manchester, Mount St. Joseph, and Transylvania Saturday, while Defiance and Rose-Hulman will compete at Ohio Northern. Bluffton will travel to Cedarville Friday, while Franklin will compete at DePauw.
