Hanover College’s Alexis Taylor (Frankfort, Ind./H.S.) helped the Panthers claim a share of the HCAC title with a 2-0 record last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week.

The sophomore posted two singles wins and two doubles wins as Hanover beat Transylvania and Manchester.  Taylor rallied for a 5-7, 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles and also paired with sophomore Kelsey Jones for an 8-2 win against the Pioneers at No. 3 doubles to help seal a 5-3 win over Transy.

The sophomore spurred an 8-1 victory against Manchester Saturday with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles and an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.

Hanover (10-3, 7-0 HCAC) can clinch an outright league title and the top seed in this weekend’s HCAC tournament with a win over Franklin Wednesday.
