HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover College women's tennis will make its fifth trip in six years to the NCAA Division III National Tournament, as the Panthers head to Atlanta, Ga. to compete against North Carolina Wesleyan in opening round action.

Hanover, along with NC Wesleyan, are in a five-team regional hosted by nationally-ranked No. 1 Emory (Ga.). Two other nationally ranked teams, No. 23 Washington & Lee (Va.) and No. 30 Sewanee (Tenn.), join the pod as well. All four teams outside of Hanover are inside the top 11 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic South regional rankings and have a combined 15 singles and doubles players/pairs regionally ranked. The host-Eagles will face the winner of the Hanover-NC Wesleyan match in the second round.

Dates and times have not yet been confirmed for play this weekend, but up-to-the-minute information will be made available on Hanover's schedule link at the top of the page. The Emory-hosted regional will take place either May 9-11 or May 10-12.

The Panthers were one of 40 teams that formed "Pool A," which includes all of the automatic qualifying schools. Hanover received its bid after winning its fifth Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament championship in six years back in the fall. Thanks to a program-record 12-match winning streak to start the season, the Blue and Red are 13-4 overall and posted an 8-0 mark in HCAC play for its sixth consecutive regular season title.

Hanover does have some familiarity with teams in its regional, having played both Emory and Sewanee in recent years. The Panthers fell to eventual national runner-up Emory in the second round of last season's national tournament and have face the Tigers each of the past two springs.

The Blue and Red made history during last season's national tournament appearance, recording the program's first win in the big dance. Hanover defeated Webster (Mo.) in the opening round, 5-0.
