INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The HCAC women's soccer title match has been set after Tuesday's semifinal play. No. 1 Hanover and No. 2 Mount St. Joseph advance to Saturday's title match in Hanover, Ind. after posting victories earlier this week.
One semifinal saw No. 2 seed Mount St. Joseph defeat No. 3 seed Transylvania. The Lions received goals from Paige Mersmann, Hannah Schloemer and Jodie Weimer while Kaylan Gruber added two assists to earn the 3-0 win and advance to the title game for the second year in a row.
Top seed and nationally ranked Hanover earned a 2-0 win at home over No. 4 seed Anderson University on Tuesday afternoon. The Panthers received a goal from Autumn Boothby and Brandi Brock to advance to their sixth HCAC women's soccer final in eight years.
Mount St. Joseph will travel to Hanover for the HCAC championship match at 11 a.m. Saturday. The winner will receive the HCAC's automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament.
