INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Hanover College extended its win streak to 12 to remain undefeated atop the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer standings.
The Panthers' Brandi Brock led the offensive attack with a total of five points for the week. On Wednesday night, the junior had one assist as Hanover defeated Rose-Hulman, 2-0. Brock then scored one of Hanover's four goals with two assists in a shutout win against Bluffton on Saturday.
Mount St. Joseph University defeated Transylvania 3-2 on Wednesday before earning a shutout 6-0 victory against Manchester on Saturday. The Lions Paige Mersmann led the offensive attack with three goals last week, including one that found the back of the net in the 87th minute against the Pioneers.
Franklin climbed to third place in the conference standings after two wins over Manchester and Anderson last week. Grizzlies goalkeeper Lexi Short stopped nine out of the 10 shots on goal in the wins. The junior earned a shutout on Saturday, tallying six saves in a 3-0 win against Anderson. For the week, Short claimed a 0.50 goals-against-average.
The Transylvania women's soccer team went 1-1 last week, including an 8-0 shutout win against Defiance on Saturday. The Pioneers were led by freshman Tori Nordin, the forward contributed two goals and one assist for the week.
