Women's Soccer Weekly Report - Week 5


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer schedule kicked off last weekend. 

Mount St. Joseph claimed a 9-1 victory at home over Earlham last Saturday to extend the Lions win streak to five games. The Mount was led by a one goal and four assists effort by junior defender Madeline Rechel in the win.

Hanover, 8-1 overall, continued its eight game win streak last week after defeating Manchester 8-1 on Saturday. In the Panthers only game of the week, midfielder Cassidy Evanson tallied two goals and one assist.

The Rose-Hulman women's soccer team claimed two shutout victories against St. Mary-of-the-Woods and Bluffton last week. During 138:53 minutes of action, the Fightin' Engineers defense did not allow a single shot on goal in the two matchups. Forward Jessica Wells led the offensive attack with three goals and three assists last week.

Franklin climbed six spots in the women's soccer standings last week after posting a 7-0 win over Defiance. The Grizzlies offense was led by Maddie Fleet, the senior forward tallied five goals and one assist for 11 points. The senior's point total and goal count set new career-highs in a game.
