INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Hanover College women's soccer team continue a seven game win streak as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule kicks off this weekend.
Hanover, 7-1 overall, sits atop the conference standings for the third week in a row. Last week the Panthers claimed victories over Spalding and Capital. Hanover was led by freshman forward Kelsey Hughes, who tallied one goal and three assists for five points last week.
The Panthers defensive unit was led by goalkeeper Amanda Carmosino, who did not allow a single goal over 165 minutes of play last week. In the two victories, the freshman tallied 11 saves.
Mount St. Joseph climbed two spots in the women's soccer standings last week after posting a 3-0 record with wins over Ohio Wesleyan, Hiram and Trine. The Lions offense was led by Kaylan Gruber, the senior forward tallied five goals for 10 total points during the victories.
The Transylvania women's soccer team claimed two shutout victories against Berea and Maryville (Tenn.) before coming to a 0-0 double overtime draw against Webster last week. The Pioneers were led in goal by freshman Morgan Patton, recording 26 saves and two shutouts in 191 minutes of play for the week.
