Franklin Ready to Host HCAC Women's Soccer Title Match


GREENWOOD, Ind. --- The HCAC women's soccer title match has been set after Wednesday's semifinal play.  No. 1 Franklin and No. 2 Mount St. Joseph advance to Saturday's title match at Franklin after posting victories earlier this week.

One semifinal saw No. 2 seed Mount St. Joseph defeat No. 3 seed Hanover.  The Lions received goals from Ariel Huber and Kaylan Gruber to earn the 2-0 win and advance to the title game for the first time since 2008.

Top seed Franklin earned a 1-0 win at home over No. 4 seed Anderson University on Wednesday night.  The Grizzlies received a goal from Maddie Fleet with the assist from Taylor McDaniel to advance to their fourth consecutive HCAC women's soccer final.

Mount St. Joseph will travel to Franklin for the HCAC championship match at 7 p.m. Saturday.  The winner will receive the HCAC's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament.
