Women's Soccer Report (Week 7) - Rose-Hulman Moves to 3-0 in League Play
GREENWOOD, IN - Rose-Hulman moved to 3-0 in HCAC action following a 2-0 week. The Engineers (7-2-4, 3-0 HCAC) recorded a pair of 3-0 wins over Anderson and Defiance and now stand alone atop the league standings with nine points.
Sophomore Haley O'Neil (Batavia, Ill./H.S.) scored two goals and had one assist in Rose-Hulman's 3-0 win over Defiance.
In Tuesday's win over Anderson, freshman Miranda Chastain (Clayton, Ind./Cascade) led the effort with a goal and an assist.
The Engineers last defeat was a 3-0 setback to Illinois Wesleyan on September 25.
Rose will welcome Mount St. Joseph to campus tonight and will close the week Saturday at Transylvania.
In other action...
Hanover went 1-0-1 on the week and sits second in the league standings. The Panthers (9-1-2, 2-0-1 HCAC) finished in a 1-1 tie at Transylvania Wednesday and blanked Anderson 7-0 Saturday afternoon. HC remain No. 3 in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA DIII Great Lakes Region rankings and will face Earlham and Bluffton this week.
Manchester was impressive last week, earning wins over Franklin and Transylvania. The Spartans (6-6-1, 2-1 HCAC) won at FC 3-2 and ended an eight match losing streak against Transylvania with a 2-1 win.
Sophomore forward Brandy Crouse (Cleves, Ohio/Taylor) scored the game-winning goal in Manchester's win at Franklin Tuesday and added another score against Transylvania Saturday.
