Franklin College’s Katie Brewer (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) helped lead the Grizzlies to a single-game HCAC field goal percentage record during the week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time.
The sophomore forward was 5-for-5 with 10 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists as FC shot a HCAC-record 70.2% from the field in a 98-76 win at Earlham Saturday.
Brewer finished with 13 points, on 5-of-6 shooting, 14 rebounds, and six blocks in a 72-54 loss to Transylvania earlier in the week.
For the week, the sophomore averaged 11.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, and 4.0 assists per game, while shooting 90.9% (10-of-11) from the field.
Franklin (13-10, 11-5 HCAC) will close the regular season on the road against Rose-Hulman and Defiance this week.
