Women's Basketball Report (Week 11) - Grizzlies Pull Within One Game of HCAC Lead
GREENWOOD, IN - Franklin College stayed alive in the race for the HCAC title with a huge win at first place Transylvania last week. The Grizzlies (10-7, 8-2 HCAC) moved within one game of the Pioneers following the win and capped off the week with a 70-62 triumph at Mount St. Joseph
In Franklin's 91-83 win at Transy, freshman guard Kayle Comer (Brownsburg, Ind./H.S.) scored 20 points with seven rebounds and three assists to lead the Grizzlies.
On Saturday, Franklin ended the week with an eight point win at Mount St. Joseph. Freshman guard Mandy Fisher (Mooresville, Ind./H.S.) led the way with 13 points and nine rebounds in the win.
Franklin will play host to Manchester and Anderson this week.

Transylvania University (15-2, 9-1 HCAC) saw its 13-game winning streak come to a close following a 91-83 loss to Franklin. The Pioneers bounced back with a 72-61 win at Rose-Hulman to remain atop the HCAC standings. Junior guard Nicole Coffman (Liberty, Ky./Casey Co.) averaged 24 points per game during the week, including a 29 point, four rebound, and three steal performance at Rose-Hulman.
Hanover College (9-8, 7-3 HCAC) maintained the third spot in the standings following road wins at Rose-Hulman and Defiance. Junior guard Alicia Hopkins (Columbus, Ind./East) averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 4.5 steals per game as the Panthers ran their win streak to four straight.
Bluffton University (10-7, 6-4 HCAC) moved into fourth place after a pair of wins last week. The Beavers ended a two-game skid with a 60-56 win at Manchester and capped off the week with a 75-55 win over Anderson.
