Women's Basketball Report (Week 3) - Earlham Nets 80-75 Win over Wilmington
GREENWOOD, IN - Earlham College (1-3, 0-0 HCAC) won its first game of the season, beating Wilmington 80-75 Saturday afternoon.
Senior guard Bria Sneed (Indianapolis, Ind./University) led the Quakers with 21 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and four steals in the win over Wilmington.
Sneed is currently averaging 15.0 points per game this season.
Earlham will open the conference schedule at home against Bluffton and Manchester this week.
In other action...
Transylvania University (2-1, 0-0 HCAC) returned to the court for the first time in two weeks Saturday, beating Spalding 92-55. Nicole Coffman (Liberty, Ky./Casey Co.) led five Pioneers in double figures with 18 points, while Alex McKenzie (Georgetown, Ky./Scott Co.) posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Pioneers are scheduled to face Mount St. Joseph and Rose-Hulman in league play this week.
Defiance College (2-2, 0-0 HCAC) ended a two-game losing streak with a 77-71 triumph over St. Mary's Saturday. The Yellow Jackets received 24 points, on 10-of-13 shooting, and 10 rebounds from Hannah Harshman (Ohio City, Ohio/Parkway) in the win. DC will open league play against Manchester and Mount this week.
