Transylvania freshman utility player Alyssa Nunn (Parker, Colo. / Legend) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Hitter of the Week.
Nunn put together an extraordinary debut this past weekend as the Pioneers went 2-0 in their season opener, beating #9 Case Western Reserve 5-1, and Thomas More, 11-5. The freshman went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI in the win against Case Western and the first game of her career.
In the second game of the day, Nunn went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI, a walk, and two more runs scored. Nunn’s lead-off single in the first ignited a six-run inning for the Pioneers from the start. Over the first two games, Nunn put together a .857 BA, .875 OBP, and a slugging percentage of 1.143 with one walk, four runs, two doubles, six hits, and three RBI while only striking out once and going 6-for-7 at the plate.
The Transylvania Pioneers (2-0, 0-0 HCAC) will travel to Seguin, Texas on March 10th for a 10 game spring break trip.
