Anderson Captures Fourth-Straight HCAC Softball Tournament Title

ANDERSON, IN – The Anderson University softball team captured the 2014 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the fourth consecutive year.  The Ravens defeated Bluffton 13-4 in the championship game held at Anderson Saturday afternoon.

Anderson completed the tournament with a 3-0 record behind a pair of victories from pitcher Sami Frazier (Greenfield, Ind./H.S.).  Frazier tossed a complete game  in a 4-1 win over Transylvania Friday and added four innings in a 13-4 win over Bluffton in the championship Saturday.

For Bluffton (26-16), Ashley Knippen (Wapakoneta, Ohio/H.S.) led the offense in the loss, finishing 2-for-3 with a home run.
