Softball Report (Week 3) - Anderson Off to a 4-2 Start Down in Florida

GREENWOOD, IN - Anderson University kicked off its season this past week down in Kissimmee, Florida.  The defending HCAC champion Ravens (4-2, 0-0 HCAC) played six of their 12 Florida games last week, defeating Utica, Endicott (DH), and McDaniel with losses to Mount Union and Coast Guard.

Freshman Sami Frazier (Greenfield, Ind./H.S.) led the Ravens during the week, finishing 7-for-17 (.412) at the plate with one run scored, one double, one home run, and eight RBI.

In the circle, senior pitcher Lauren Smith (New Palestine, Ind./H.S.) went 1-0 in two appearances to lead the Ravens' rotation. Smith tossed a complete game in AU's 3-1 win over Endicott Sunday afternoon, allowing only two hits in seven innings of work. Smith totaled nine strikeouts in nine innings with an ERA of 0.78.

Anderson continues the Florida trip with six more games this week.  AU will play doubleheaders on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before returning to campus.
