GREENWOOD, IN- Anderson University locked up the school's first HCAC softball title since 2000 with a 4-0 mark last week. The Ravens (25-10, 14-0 HCAC) clinched the title with a sweep of second place Bluffton on Tuesday and capped off the week with a sweep of Franklin. AU has locked down the top seed and will host the upcoming HCAC tournament on May 4-5.
Junior infielder Natalie Moorhouse (Albion, Ind./Central Noble) led the Ravens offense, batting .385 with three doubles and three RBI last week.
In the circle, Devin Moorman (Batesville, Ind./H.S.) went 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA to lead the Ravens pitching staff. The junior allowed 10 total hits and three runs, while striking out 10 in 14.0 innings of work.
Moorman has won eight straight decisions overall and is 7-0 in the HCAC with a 0.95 ERA this spring.
Anderson will look to close the regular season with a perfect league record as the Ravens head to Mount St. Joseph Saturday.
In other HCAC action...
Bluffton University (22-14, 10-4 HCAC) locked up a HCAC tournament berth with a sweep of Franklin on Sunday. BU's Katie Clark (New Palestine, Ind./H.S.) led the Beavers to a 4-2 record during the week in HCAC play.
The freshman infielder went 11-for-19 (.579) at the plate with eight runs scored, seven RBI, three home runs, two doubles, and a triple. Clark finished with a 1.263 slugging percentage and a 1.863 OPS during the week's action.
Bluffton can lock up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming HCAC tournament with a sweep of Transylvania Saturday.
