GREENWOOD, IN- Manchester junior Thomas Dean (Bremen, Ind./H.S.) turned in a strong individual effort, leading Manchester University at the Greater Louisville Classic.
Competing against a multi-divisional field at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park, Dean ended within the top 65 overall and 58th points-wise, finishing in 26:08.72. The Black and Gold's 664-point total slid them past the University of Southern Indiana into the top 25 (USI – 665). They were fourth among NCAA Division III participants in the Blue race, as Wabash College ended 8th, and Hope College of Michigan and DePauw University of Greencastle, Ind., were 14th and 15th, respectively.
Hanover, Franklin, and Transylvania competed in the Silver race at Louisville. The Grizzlies placed 17th among 39 teams, while the Pioneers and Panthers finished 22nd and 31st.
Bluffton, Defiance, and Mount St. Joseph took part in the All-Ohio Championships on Friday. The Beavers finished 15th in the standings, the Jackets took 18th, and the Lions placed 19th.
Franklin and Rose-Hulman are the only two teams in action this week. The Grizzlies will run at Principia, while the Engineers will run at Carnegie Mellon.
