GREENWOOD, IN- The Anderson University men's cross country team finished second at the five-team Anderson Invitational on Saturday. The Ravens finished behind Berea in the team standings.
Freshman Isaac Wonderlin (Terre Haute, Ind./South) was AU's top finisher at the meet, placing sixth overall with a time of 22:13.
Earlham College also competed at Anderson, finishing fourth overall in the standings. The Quakers were paced by freshman Gabriel Penk (Portland, Ore./Woodrow Wilson). Penk placed eighth with a time of 22:32.
Hanover played host to the Madison Kiwanis Invitational Saturday. The Panthers finished 10th in the 13-team field, while Franklin earned a ninth place finish and Mount St. Joseph finished 13th.
Franklin’s Kris Sandlin (Scottsburg, Ind./H.S.) finished second at the meet, finishing just 15 seconds behind last season’s NCAA Division III individual national champion. Sandlin posted a time of 25:41.5 on the 8K course.
Defiance welcomed Manchester to campus for the Defiance Duals on Friday evening. The nationally ranked Spartans won the dual meet by a score of 20 to 42.
Defiance's Joe Davis (Ontario, Ohio/H.S.) won the meet with a time of 26:53.3, while Manchester's Jon Cafarelli (Lansing, Ill./Marian Catholic) finished second with a mark of 27:45.00.
Bluffton was also in action, running at the Queen City Invitational in Cincinnati. The Beavers finished third among the 10 competing NCAA Division II, III, and NAIA schools. Sophomore Josh Edens (Westerville, Ohio/Central) led BU with a 10th place finish.
This weekend's Bluffton, Defiance and Manchester will compete at Calvin, while Mount St. Joseph and Transylvania will run at the University of Kentucky. Mount St. Joseph will hit the course on Friday evening at Notre Dame in the National Catholic Championships.
