GREENWOOD, IN - Rose-Hulman earned the team title at the Rose-Hulman Invitational over the weekend. The Engineers placed first in the nine team meet that featured four HCAC institutions.
Rose-Hulman’s Austin Schulthies (Debois, Ind./Northeast Dubois) won two events at the meet. The junior won the long jump with a HCAC-best leap of 21’ 4” and earned the title in the high jump with a mark of 6’ 1.25”.
The Engineers currently stand fourth in the Great Lakes Region rankings in results released by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Transylvania, Franklin, and Mount St. Joseph also competed in Terre Haute. The Pioneers finished seventh, while the Grizzlies (8th) and Lions (9th) rounded out the field.
Anderson, Bluffton, and Defiance were in action at Taylor University Saturday. There were no team standings at the meet.
Manchester traveled to IPFW for the Mastodon Invitational. Michael Stocker (Yorktown, Ind./H.S.) won the 5,000-meters with a school record time of 15:13.28, setting a new top mark in the HCAC this indoor season. The effort defeated the field by nearly 13 seconds, giving the Spartans their lone event win of the meet.
This weekend's schedule features all 10 HCAC squads. Anderson will host Earlham, Hanover, Manchester, Mount St. Joseph, and Transylvania Saturday, while Defiance and Rose-Hulman will compete at Ohio Northern. Bluffton will travel to Cedarville Friday, while Franklin will compete at DePauw.
