Rose-Hulman Wins Fourth Straight HCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Title

ANDERSON, IN – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men’s and Defiance College women’s track and field team earned titles at the fourth annual Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Anderson University on February 22.  The Engineers men scored 200.5 points in the 17 events to hold off Franklin’s 113 point effort to claim their fourth straight HCAC men’s indoor track title.  The Defiance women’s track team earned their first indoor title, holding off two-time defending champion Hanover by 14 points.

The Rose-Hulman men had two event winners. Freshman Nathan Green (Columbus, Ind./North) claimed the title in the pole vault with a mark of 4.41 meters.  Freshman Andrew Okruch (Mt. Washington, Ky./Bullitt East) also won a field event, claiming a first place mark of 15.47 meters in the shot put.

Franklin placed second in the men’s team standings with 113 points.  Anderson University tallied 85.5 points and was followed by Manchester University (73 points), Defiance College (61.5), Bluffton University (41.5), Hanover College (39), Transylvania University (29), College of Mount St. Joseph (18), and Earlham College (2).
