Men's Tennis Report (Week 3) - Earlham Sweeps Manchester in HCAC Opener
GREENWOOD, IN - Earlham College kicked off the conference schedule with a 9-0 sweep of Manchester Friday evening. The Quakers (3-2, 1-0 HCAC) have won three straight matches since starting the season 0-2.
Earlham's Phillip Locklear (Springboro, Ohio/H.S.) posted a pair of victories in the Manchester win. The sophomore teamed with Nathan Reinsma for an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles and posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 1 singles position.
Earlham will play Austin, Texas-Dallas, and Texas-Tyler on the road this week.
In other action...
Defiance College (5-3, 1-0 HCAC) concluded a five-match trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina with a 2-1 record last week. The Jackets swept Marietta 9-0 and earned a 7-2 win over Roosevelt. DC ended the five game swing with a 6-3 setback to Ohio Wesleyan. Defiance will close the non-conference portion of its schedule against Adrian and Alma this week.
