Franklin junior James Hone (Melbourne, Australia / Montmorency Secondary) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week.

Hone had a productive weekend in a dual meet against Millikin on Friday night and a double dual versus Illinois Tech and Loras College on Saturday. On Friday, Hone started out the evening by winning the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:29.34, which currently ranks 4th in the early HCAC swimming & diving season. On Saturday, Hone raced to a second place finish against competitors from Illinois Tech and Loras College in the 200 freestyle and 400 individual medley. Hones time as the lead off in the 100 backstroke ranks 1st in the HCAC, and his time in the 200 freestyle is the 3rd fastest swim in the conference this year. The junior finished the weekend by winning the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:03.09.
