INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Transylvania men's soccer team will commence its 2017 NCAA Tournament adventure with a first-round matchup versus the Kenyon College Lords this Saturday, November 10 in Westerville, Ohio on the campus of Otterbein University.

The Pioneers discovered their NCAA Tournament assignment during Monday afternoon's release of the NCAA selection show.

Transylvania clinched its NCAA Tournament berth by securing the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament automatic qualifier following a 2-1 double-overtime victory last Saturday against Rose-Hulman to win the tournament title. The Pioneers won the conference tournament title for the first time in five years with last Saturday's victory.

Transylvania enters the NCAA Tournament carrying a 17-1 overall record. The Pioneers will face Kenyon (15-2-3, 9-0 NCAC), the North Coast Athletic Conference regular season champions. Kenyon played to a 0-0 draw against Ohio Wesleyan this past weekend in the NCAC Championship match before falling 3-2 in the penalty shootout. The Lords received an at-large bid to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Transylvania last squared off with Kenyon in 2009, a 1-0 overtime win for the Lords. The Pioneers are 1-1 against Kenyon all-time.

The scheduled start time for Saturday's opening-round match at Otterbein's Memorial Stadium between Kenyon and Transylvania is to be determined. Schedule updates will be posted on Twitter @TransySports and via TransySports.com.
