Pioneers Win First HCAC Men's Soccer Tournament Title Since 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. --- Transylvania University defeated Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday evening to pick up the school's 10th HCAC men's soccer tournament championship and its first under head coach Matt Vogel.  The No. 1 seed Pioneers (17-1) earn the automatic berth to the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament with the 2-1 double overtime win.

Transylvania freshman Garrett Dean scored the game-winning goal unassisted in the 101st minute of the championship match. Dean's efforts during the HCAC Men's Soccer Tournament earned him Tournament MVP honors.

The Pioneers will learn of its first opponent in the NCAA tournament on Monday at 1:30 p.m. The tournament's first/second rounds are scheduled for November 11-12.
