Franklin junior guard Borden Kennedy (Attica, Ind. / Seeger) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Kennedy shot 68.4 percent from the field and averaged 20.5 points and 6.5 assists per game as Franklin went 2-0 in the final week of the regular season. The junior set a new career-high with 25 points Wednesday against Transylvania, going 5-for-8 from the floor and 15-for-16 at the free throw line while matching a season best seven assists in the win. Kennedy also added 16 points and dished out six assists in Saturday's regular season finale against Bluffton.
The Franklin Grizzlies (11-14, 9-9 HCAC) will play Rose-Hulman in the opening round of the HCAC Men’s Basketball Tournament on Friday, February 22 at Hanover College.
