INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Four men's basketball programs in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference sit with a 3-1 conference record on the team leaderboard.
Bluffton's Andrew Renner once again led the Beavers to a 74-52 win over Franklin on Saturday last week. The junior led all scorers with 24 points, shooting 52.6 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc. Jameel Cosby also added 14 points and four assists in the Beaver victory.
Hanover's Isaac Hibbard led the Panthers to a 77-72 win over Defiance last week. The sophomore set a career-high in rebounds (15), and became the first Panther in over a decade to record 15-plus boards in one game. Hibbard also set a new personal best with eight assists while adding 14 points in the victory. Hanover was also led by senior Cam Fails (22 points) and freshman Zach Harp (19 points) in the victory.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology went 2-0 last week with a 93-67 win against Boyce on Thursday and a 62-48 victory at Manchester on Saturday. The Fightin' Engineers were led last week by Ryuji Aoki, the junior averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and a 52.2 field goal percentage per game.
In Transy's 93-56 win against Anderson last week, Michael Jefferson led the Pios with 18 total points on 8-of-8 from the field. The sophomore guard added six rebounds and six assists with two steals in the victory.
