INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule kicked off last weekend for the men's basketball programs.
After losing two in a row, Hanover College bounced back for a 75-58 win over Franklin on Saturday. In a 57-54 loss to Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday, Cam Fails registered 19 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. In the HCAC opener against Franklin, the senior tallied a season-high 22 points, and tied a season-high in rebounds (5) and assists (6).
Fails also recorded a season-best five steals in the 75-58 win against the Grizzlies. For the week, the senior averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game.
Rose-Hulman went 1-2 last week with losses to Wabash and DePauw and a victory over Defiance. The Fightin' Engineers were led last week by Craig McGee, the sophomore averaged 15.3 point, 6.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game.
In the Pioneers lone game last week, three Transylvania players scored in double digits to claim a comeback 65-62 victory over Bluffton. Senior Cooper Theobald tallied 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and six rebounds to lead Transy.
