Manchester's Dakota Nelson Sets Voting Record to Claim HCAC Play of the Week

GREENWOOD, IN - Manchester University wide receiver Dakota Nelson (Fairfield, Ind./Triton) was voted as the HCAC Play of the Week for week 6.  The freshman earned the title after voting took place on the HCAC social media outlets of Facebook and Twitter.

Nelson's winning play was a diving catch in traffic for a touchdown against Defiance. The score cut the deficit to 27-12 early in the fourth quarter of play.

The final voting tally saw Nelson garnering 54% of the vote (7,224 votes), beating out Anderson University's Willi Robinson who garnered 42% of the vote (5,622).

The poll was distributed on the HCAC Twitter (@HCACDIII) and Facebook pages Monday, with voting ending at 10AM today. 

This week's vote generated a record 13,149 votes and just over 17,500 page views in a 48-hour period.

Be sure to follow the HCAC on Twitter and Facebook to vote in next week's poll begining Monday afternoon.

All the winning plays from the 2013 season will be nominated for HCAC Play of the Year, which will be voted upon the week of Nov. 25-27 leading up to Thanksgiving.
