INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Anderson University's Joe Moran has been named the 2019 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player in baseball. The All-HCAC squad is selected by a vote of the ten conference head coaches. The junior designated hitter guided the Ravens to a 21-16 overall record and a third place finish in the conference standings this spring.

Moran hit .471 (33-for-70) in conference play and added 18 runs, 21 RBI, five doubles, and five home runs. The junior also registered a .757 slugging percentage and a .558 on-base percentage during league contests. On the mound, Moran recorded 37 strikeouts and a 3.34 earned run average, and tallied a .857 fielding percentage at first base in league action for the Ravens this season.

Rose-Hulman's Luke Buehler has been selected as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Pitcher. Buehler, a junior pitcher for the Fightin' Engineers, finished the HCAC season with a 4-0 record on the mound. The junior posted an earned run average of 1.69 and struck out 26 batters in 32.0 innings of work.
