Baseball Report (Week 3) - Anderson Improves to 6-2 on the Season

GREENWOOD, IN- Anderson University put together a 4-2 week to improve its overall mark to 6-2.  The Ravens (6-2, 0-0 HCAC) currently occupy the top record in the conference heading into the final week of non-league play.

Anderson opened the week with a 17-10 win over Capital and a 12-2 loss to Denison on Monday in Xenia, Ohio.  AU also earned a sweep of Hope Saturday and split a doubleheader with Wisconsin-Stevens Point Sunday down in Winter Haven, Florida.

Junior catcher Cole Heberling (Anderson, Ind./H.S.) hit .409 during the week with one double, one home run, and a team-high eight RBI.  Sophomore outfielder Boston Fields (Lapel, Ind./H.S.) hit .444 with two home runs and six RBI, posting a slugging percentage of .778.

On the mound, senior pitcher Nolan Schaefer (Marshall, Ill./H.S.) went 1-0 in two appearances.  Schaefer allowed 13 hits with three earned runs in 12.2 innings of work.

Anderson will finish its Florida trip against Rutgers-Camden and Denison before opening HCAC play at Transylvania over the weekend.
