INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Manchester University baseball team will travel to Rose-Hulman this week to play in one of eight regional tourneys in the 2013 NCAA Division III Championship tournament, as announced by the organization's selection committee today.
The Spartans (35-5-1 overall) will join seven other schools in the regional which will be hosted by Rose-Hulman at Art Nehf Field Wednesday through Sunday and has a double-elimination format.
Manchester, the No. 1 seed, will play in the second game, taking on No. 8 seed Mount Union (23-16) at 1:15 PM on Wednesday, May 15.
Manchester, which defeated Franklin in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament championship game on Saturday, advanced to the NCAA tourney with an automatic bid. The Spartans are making their second straight NCAA Division III playoff appearance.
Winners of the eight regional tournaments will qualify for the NCAA Division III World Series double-elimination championship at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis. May 24-28.
