Hanover Takes HCAC Spring 2021 Women’s Cross Country Title

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Spring 2021 Women's Cross Country Championship was run on Sunday, with Hanover College claiming the title at the E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.

The Panthers won the race with a team score of 39 points, beating out Rose-Hulman institute of Technology, who finished in second with 62 points. Manchester University placed in third with 73 points, while Bluffton University claimed fourth with 93 points. Hosts Transylvania University took fifth, with 130 points, while Franklin College (138) and Earlham College (150) finished in sixth and seventh respectively.
 
Individually, Arig Tong led the way from Hanover as she claimed the individual title, running the 6K course in 23:16.82. From Mount St. Joseph University, first-year Hannah Morgan ran the fastest time of a first-year, earning the title of Newcomer of the Year with a 10th place finish and time of 25:27.19. Hanover head coach Brady Wells was voted the Coach of the Year in a vote of league coaches.
